Overview
Hoag Health System is seeking a Collector II for Revenue Cycle Epic to support accurate reimbursements, resolve complex accounts, and contribute to the financial health of the organization. Responsibilities
Serve as the account representative for Hoag, working with insurance companies, government payors, and patients to resolve payments and account balances. Manage assigned accounts within work queues with precision and urgency. Evaluate claims using contract management tools (APC, DRG, APRDRG) to ensure proper pricing. Initiate appeals for underpayments and escalate discrepancies in billing or coding. Respond to payor and patient correspondence in a timely and professional manner. Interpret EOBs and ERAs to verify accurate payments and educate patients and colleagues. Apply knowledge of hospital billing forms (UB04, HCFA 1500) and diverse payor types (Medicare, Medi-Cal, TriCare, PPOs, HMOs, etc.). Document all actions in patient accounting systems and accurately code insurance plan details. Establish payment arrangements and apply applicable rates or discounts. Process bankruptcy and deceased patient accounts when applicable. Consistently meet productivity and quality assurance standards. What Sets A Collector II Apart

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years of experience in a hospital/medical and/or related field or strong background in customer service. Working knowledge of Epic Resolute, EpicCare, and Epic CPOE. Intermediate Excel knowledge is a must. Licenses & Certifications
