Senior Property Facultative Underwriter - Hybrid. Swiss Re (via myGwork) is seeking a Property Complex Underwriter to evaluate and underwrite large national and international property accounts across diverse industries, leveraging modeling tools to tailor reinsurance solutions and optimize portfolio performance. Responsibilities
Underwrite complex risks across various industry classes including tech, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, real estate portfolios, and industrial manufacturers, focusing on Fortune 1000 companies Exercise sound judgment in a collaborative environment, interacting directly with clients to resolve insurance needs while improving the facultative portfolio Manage portfolio risk with data-driven tools that provide clarity on exposure aggregations and pricing metrics Build and nurture relationships with internal and external partners, engaging clients to understand and meet their specific needs Develop marketing strategies in collaboration with colleagues, building key relationships regionally and expanding into national and international channels Coordinate business strategy across a diverse national customer and broker network Drive efficiency improvements by optimizing existing processes and implementing new tools About The Team
The Property Complex reinsurance unit underwrites all large commercial property accounts for facultative in the US via broker and direct channels. This role offers exposure to diverse clients across all industry classes, insurance perils, and layer structures, including both proportional and non-proportional placements. The underwriter will work with state-of-the-art proprietary modeling tools for fire and natural catastrophe exposures to develop creative reinsurance solutions based on client needs. About You
You're an analytical thinker with strong decision-making abilities who thrives in a collaborative environment. You communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and you have the technical expertise to evaluate complex risks and develop innovative solutions. Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of single risk underwriting experience in either primary or reinsurance markets Familiarity with insurance modeling and conceptual understanding of rating tools and underwriting systems Experience with and/or strong knowledge of the U.S. property insurance market Bachelor's Degree; concentration in Risk Management is a plus Strong decision-making skills Nice To Haves
Ability to work independently or within a team Positive demeanor with motivation and collaborative behavior Flexibility for occasional travel Additional Details
Our company has a hybrid work model with in-office presence three days per week. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance or visa sponsorship. Estimated base salary range: $156,000 to $246,000. Salary offers consider location, scope, qualifications, experience, and market budgets.
