Vice President, Finance & Administration.
This individual serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and oversees Finance, HR, IT, and general administrative functions. The VP, Finance & Administration combines strong financial stewardship, administrative oversight, strategic alignment, and corporate governance. This position reports directly to the President, oversees a multidisciplinary team of 8-10 professionals, and works onsite at our Corvallis OR location. As our business continues to develop in a dynamic industry, this executive will help drive financial and operational excellence and support strategic change management as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Direct all accounting operations, including month-end closing, journal entries, accounting reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow modeling, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and timely delivery of accurate financial statements to the parent company.
Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax preparers; manage audits, tax filings, and compliance activities.
Administrative Oversight
Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide policies and procedures across HR, IT, and general administration.
Set HR strategy and oversee execution of HR functions including recruiting, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.
Oversee IT strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and end-user support, ensuring reliable and secure systems.
Lead and manage vendor negotiations and contract management for facilities, corporate insurance programs, and professional services.
Strategic Leadership & Governance
Partner with the President and executive team to shape financial, IT, and HR strategies that support long-term growth and risk management.
Provide financial insights and operational recommendations to drive cost optimization and revenue growth.
Champion internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
Represent the subsidiary at board meetings, presenting financial results and strategic roadmaps.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate regularly with JSR corporate teams (finance, legal, compliance, HR) on audits, regulatory filings, and group-wide initiatives.
Coordinate with tax specialists to optimize tax planning and ensure timely and accurate filings.
Serve as trusted partner to senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
Present financial results and operational updates to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
MBA in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, preferably within a multinational or Japanese corporate structure.
Strong experience with ERP systems (QuickBooks preferred) and advanced Excel financial modeling skills.
Proven ability to inspire and develop cross-functional teams in Accounting, HR and IT, build alignment across diverse stakeholders, and lead through organizational growth and change.
Deep understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Exceptional analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a rapidly evolving, growth-oriented environment.
Self-motivated and proactive in achieving goals.
Teamwork skills and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric, collaborative manufacturing and R&D environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer entry, analysis, and presentations.
Ability to work primarily on-site in our Corvallis, OR headquarters
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic, international).
