Position Description The Accountant position is primarily responsible for day-to-day duties associated with full cycle accounting, including financial reporting and analysis, month-end close, general ledger reconciliation, forecasting and special projects. The successful Accountant must be comfortable working in a fast paced, expanding, and dynamic environment. This role requires extensive knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures to assist with internal financial controls and procedures. It is highly customer service oriented and requires excellent communication skills to work with internal teams and external partners. This position adheres to all company policies and safety protocols. Key Competencies Required to be Successful as an Accountant

Daily maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger for liability, equity, and asset accounts to ensure accuracy and validity of accounting transactions. Consolidates and prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements for multiple R.S. Hughes divisions. Daily review of subsidiary ledger accounts. Executes month-end close process by following internal procedures and protocols, including settling suspense and clearing accounts. Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts. Documents, creates, and posts journal entries. Manages accruals to accurately reflect obligations monthly. Performs regular internal audits to support financial accuracy, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Files required tax forms in compliance with federal, state, and local government agencies requirements. Reconciles PO discrepancies and works with divisions and A/P to resolve. Proactively works and collaborates with Accounting and other departments to support operational excellence, identifying process improvement opportunities. Consolidation of subsidiary systems into Master G/L. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education/Certification/Licenses

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. Three to five years of broad accounting experience required. Skills That Will Make You Successful

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with accounting software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without direct supervision. Ability to multi-task, while instinctively readjusting efforts to focus on high-priority tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and especially Microsoft Excel. Target Base Compensation range for this non-exempt role is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. DOE.
