is responsible for verifying patients’ insurance coverage on a continuous basis. This includes reverification daily of all patients within the hospital and reporting any insurance changes. The individual must be able to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously. This position will have added responsibilities as determined by the department. Responsibilities Verifies patient insurance daily. Updates patient account with changes. Communicates with internal staff on insurance changes promptly. Keeps the hospital informed of high medical responsibilities and changes in insurance. Updates and delivers morning census reports. Assist patients with eligibility for government programs. Qualifications

Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in business, finance, healthcare administration or related field preferred Minimum of 1 year of experience in Insurance Verification, Inpatient or Outpatient facility; Preference given to Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills Professional and caring demeanor Excellent phone and customer services skills Good organizational skills Basic to moderate knowledge of Insurance procedures and terminology Basic knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnosis and treatment Basic to moderate knowledge of Billing procedures and terminology Ability to problem-solve and exercise sound time management EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
