Overview
As a Per Diem Residential Counselor, you will provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement. You will work with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to build independence skills or increase quality of life. Per Diem Residential Counselors have duties including administering medication under the Medication Administration Program (MAP), implementing treatment plans, and assisting with activities of daily living such as household chores and cooking. You will also strengthen residents\' connection to their community by providing transportation for outings such as shopping and doctor\'s appointments.
Responsibilities
Administer medication under the Medication Administration Program (MAP) in accordance with policy. Implement and support treatment plans developed for residents. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including household chores and meal preparation. Provide transportation to community activities, appointments, and outings to promote community integration. Collaborate with residents, families, friends, employers, and other support staff to maximize independence and quality of life. Maintain accurate records and contribute to a supportive, safe environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor\'s degree in a Human Services related field is preferred. Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injury strongly preferred. Strong time management and writing skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have a current, valid US driver\'s license for at least 6 months and access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle. Must be able to become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment, Safety Care certified within 90 days of employment, and MAP certified within 150 days of employment. Certification trainings are offered through Vinfen upon hire. Must be able to pass a CORI, reference, national fingerprinting and driving record check.
Pay Range
USD $17.50 - USD $20.75 /Yr.
