Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
Tax Manager
to join our growing CPA firm in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, with a strong background in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation. This role involves managing client relationships, overseeing tax compliance and planning, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality tax services.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Planning: Review and prepare complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S-corps, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals.
Provide strategic tax planning and consulting to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
Research and interpret tax laws to address client needs and resolve tax issues.
Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
Advise clients on tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor tax associates and seniors.
Review work prepared by staff and provide constructive feedback.
Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand services for existing clients.
Assist in networking and business development efforts to attract new clients.
Regulatory & Firm Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with IRS and state tax authorities.
Stay updated on changing tax laws and industry trends.
Assist in firm administrative duties, including billing and workflow management.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
CPA certification (strongly preferred).
Master's in Taxation or related field (a plus).
Experience: 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
Strong technical skills in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax).
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Leadership experience with a team-oriented mindset.
