Premier Medical Resources Hybrid opportunity after 30-90 day in-person training (3 days from home, 2 days in office). Premier Medical Resources
is looking for an Accounts Recovery Specialist to join our team. This position provides medical collection services for medical professional clinics, performing follow-up, account resolution, and communication with patients, offsite associates, reimbursement vendors, and other external entities. The role requires a strong background in medical collections and maintaining knowledge of the overall collection work processes for both active AR and BD inventory, while upholding patient and physician satisfaction and adhering to all physician, state, and federal guidelines. Responsibilities Ensure daily productivity standards are met Communicate and/or negotiate problematic accounts Contact providers for verification of patient records Upload and maintain data using third-party portal accounts such as Availity Fulfills internal and external requests for outcome data, including developing special reports Use collection tools effectively to ensure quality recovery services and meet or exceed goals Provide effective collection services ensuring the successful recovery of accounts in accordance with state guidelines and company objectives Document and update patient account information in Recovery Cycle Management software accurately and timely Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with federal laws Handle inbound and outbound patient and/or carrier calls, providing assistance and resolution to inquiries Research and analyze account issues to resolve problems timely and accurately Promote positive patient relations with respectful communication Review denials and underpayments to guide resolution and resubmission Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of Revenue Cycle account recovery Knowledge of health insurance claims, billing, collection, and resolution Proficiency with PC applications (Word, Excel) Knowledge of in-network and out-of-network insurances, workers compensation, insurance verification, and patient responsibility Ability to interpret EOBs, post payments, and adjust accounts Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes and procedures Knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations Working knowledge of medical jargon and anatomy Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Professional communication with outside parties Adaptability and flexibility
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of experience in medical account recovery
