Description Job Overview We are excited to invite a detail-oriented and proactive Material Coordination Specialist to become a vital part of our operations team. This role focuses on meticulously planning, scheduling, and coordinating the movement of materials from the moment they arrive at the warehouse until they reach production. As a key player in our organization, the Material Coordination Specialist ensures the timely availability of raw materials and components, helping us to meet production goals while effectively minimizing delays and maximizing inventory efficiency. Primary Responsibilities: Strategically plan and schedule material flow to align with production requirements while controlling inventory costs. Develop comprehensive raw material requirements and schedules based on engineering specifications as well as production forecasts. Effectively coordinate material planning activities alongside purchasing, warehouse, and production departments. Monitor inventory levels closely and adjust plans accordingly to prevent material shortages or excesses. Ensure timely delivery of materials to production, optimizing both availability and usage. Track and analyze material movement and lead times to drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any material-related issues and support efficient production workflows. Maintain accurate records and reports related to material planning and scheduling activities. Basic Qualifications: TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or additional experience in lieu of a degree. 6+ years of relevant experience in material planning, materials management, or supply chain operations (or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience, with additional experience in lieu of a degree). Strong practical knowledge of materials management practices, production planning, and supply chain operations. Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM), procurement processes, and inventory control. Experience using Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address moderately complex issues effectively. Exceptional communication skills to work collaboratively across departments including purchasing, warehouse, and production teams. Ability to independently manage moderately complex assignments and oversee efficient material flow from warehouse receipt to production. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master's) in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Analytics. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment with cross-functional project involvement. Proficient in advanced materials management systems or ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards. Demonstrated capability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and vendors for optimal material delivery and inventory control. Understanding of industry best practices and standards in materials and production planning. Proficiency in developing and interpreting production schedules, forecasts, and engineering specifications. Experience with lean manufacturing principles or just-in-time (JIT) inventory management. Pay Range:

Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
