We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to manage complex claims and investigative activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting policy coverages, analyzing claims, and making decisions using independent judgment. This role involves working with legal counsel to direct discovery and litigation strategies, preparing reports for clients and management, and settling claims in a cost-effective and timely manner. Key Responsibilities
Interpret and make decisions on complex and unusual policy coverages, determining their applicability to claims submitted. Manage all aspects of investigative activity on complex claims, ensuring thorough investigation and adherence to policy guidelines. Direct discovery and litigation strategy in collaboration with legal counsel. Analyze claims activity and prepare detailed reports for clients, carriers, and management. Establish reserves using independent judgment and expertise, authorizing payments within authority limits to ensure timely issuance of disbursements. Settle claims promptly and equitably, issuing company drafts for payments within authority limits. Develop subrogation and third-party recovery potential, following reclaim procedures. Participate in claims reviews to ensure optimal outcomes and compliance. Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4-8 years of technical claims investigations/settling experience, with a focus on claims or a similar field. Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License required per jurisdictional requirements. Preferred: Industry designations such as IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU. Additional Preferred Licenses
SIP (Self-Insured Pool) if applicable. WCCA (Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster) or WCCP (Workers Compensation Claims Professional) preferred, but not mandatory. Location Requirements:
This is a remote role, but candidates must be located near one of the following office locations: Brea, Folsom, or Fresno, CA. Consideration for exceptional candidates from other locations in the U.S. may be given. Candidates must be able to work in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone.
