Overview

Senior Actuarial Consultant - Specialty Pricing (Cyber, Tech E&O, Media) at CNA Insurance. Hybrid work schedule from CNA Actuarial Hub offices (New York City, NY; Warren, NJ; Radnor, PA; Chicago, IL; Walnut Creek, CA) with the option to work the remainder of the week remotely. Exam taking candidates may participate in the Actuarial Education Program with study support and exam raises as you develop skills. Responsibilities

Establishes relationships with business partners and subject matter experts, providing actuarial guidance as needed. Builds relationships with peers, business partners and leaders to influence a segment\'s strategy through actionable insights and analytics. Provides analyses and insights to determine pricing strategy for Cyber, Media Liability, and other professional liability segments like Tech E&O; may create or modify tools/analytics as needed. Monitors profitability, reserving, and claim trends for Cyber, Media Liability, and other Professional Liability; shares results with recommendations to leaders and underwriting, claims, and pricing partners. Guides less experienced team members, manages projects as needed. Produces highly technical actuarial analyses and reports and communicates findings to analytical staff and management. Stays current with actuarial expertise and industry trends; drives innovation while maintaining clear documentation of methods. Continually improves processes and maintains documentation of methods. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Strong knowledge of core insurance company functions and actuarial/statistical concepts. Advanced actuarial technical expertise and product-specific knowledge. Ability to communicate effectively and influence using analyses at various levels, including senior leadership. Experience building successful business partnerships. Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues. Solid project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams. Ability to make critical business decisions within scope of authority and to manage through ambiguity and change. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience. ACAS designation and working towards FCAS; FCAS candidates may be considered. Compensation & Location

In Chicago/New York/California, the average base pay range for a Senior Actuarial Consultant is $130,500 to $185,000. In certain jurisdictions, the base pay range is $72,000 to $141,000 annually.
