Overview
Education Program Coordinator (Learning Coordinator) role at Liliʻuokalani Trust. The Education Program Coordinator supports the development and implementation of youth-centered programming focused on education and academic achievement for participants ages 12–24. Housed at the Liliʻuokalani Center (LC), this role coordinates accessible, relevant, and engaging opportunities that empower Native Hawaiian youth and LT beneficiaries (kamaliʻi) to explore personal strengths, identify meaningful career and entrepreneurial pathways, and develop skills essential to their transition to adult roles. The position focuses on programs related to secondary, post-secondary, alternative, and career/technical education. Liliʻuokalani Center
Liliʻuokalani Center programs engage youth ages 12–24 in adolescent development, providing kamaliʻi spaces, programming, and resources while creating a hub for youth co-development. The LC program emphasizes Native Hawaiian youth voice around culture and connection in Hawaiʻi, promoting healing and supporting awareness, discovery, and understanding of cultural identity, community, and place as youth transition to adult roles. Essential Responsibilities
Plan with the Life Readiness Pathways Team to develop programming aligned to the 2045 Strategic Plan (Wehe ke Ala). Support the design and implementation of programming that helps youth develop as learners, with an emphasis on hands-on learning and mentorship. Create courses to fit a diverse selection of learning offerings, including opportunities to work toward high school equivalency, college preparation, and “moonshots,” to encourage kamaliʻi creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth. Co-develop curriculum that is strengths-based, culturally relevant, and aligned to academic outcomes within educational systems. Integrate Native Hawaiian practices and concepts to expand cultural identity and local perspectives while connecting youth to other indigenous/Pasifika and global communities. Program Coordination

Collaborate with Life Readiness Pathways Team to develop, manage, and track program outcomes related to education, academic achievement, and strategic plan goals. Support contracted facilitators, mentors, and industry professionals delivering Life Readiness programs. Support Learning Design manager and Life Readiness team in delivering programming. Systems Management
Work collaboratively with the Learning Design Manager to develop data collection processes that provide regular, actionable feedback from participants to inform program design and report to Research & Evaluation. Work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and supervision of all program spaces. Provide program coverage as necessary. Provide ongoing support for program teammates. Community Relations
Maintain strong relationships with local and national partners and serve as a liaison for partnership implementation. Identify and cultivate relevant community partnerships in collaboration with teammates and the Community Resources team. Maintain knowledge of current trends in youth services and performing arts, ensuring that community initiatives and programmatic strategies align with current needs. Other Duties
Collaborate with Life Readiness Pathway Team on program planning, budget development, revision, and evaluation. Provide transportation as needed for organization-related business, such as driving staff, beneficiaries, and/or families to assigned destinations. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development. Contribute to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team and organizational results. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or relevant field (Master's preferred). Minimum 3–5 years teaching young people (preferably Native Hawaiian youth, preferably in STEM). Valid driver’s license, clean driving record. Able to work evenings, Saturdays, and holidays when required. Able to work independently and on a team with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills. TB clearance. Job Competencies

Ethical Practice: High ethical standards; uphold LT values. Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, active listening, and responsiveness.
