Senior Human Resources Coordinator position at Mitchell 1, a division of Snap-on Inc. About the Role
The Senior HR Coordinator supports HR operations, ensuring smooth functioning of HR processes and accurate data handling. Responsibilities include coordinating administrative tasks, assisting with payroll-related activities, and supporting employee programs and inquiries.
Key Responsibilities Manage HR administrative tasks (mail distribution, filing, office supplies, recordkeeping in HR systems).
Administer employee programs such as referral and safety rewards; coordinate with payroll as needed.
Track education assistance benefits and coordinate with the payroll department; process payroll deductions and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
Maintain and update employee emergency contact information; support terminations and employment verifications.
Support payroll processes with data accuracy and timely approvals; liaise with the payroll department on wage garnishments.
Handle contractor invoice processes and reconcile data entries.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, payroll, workers’ compensation, and disability; escalate complex issues as needed.
Manage company-branded merchandise store inventory and employee purchases.
Maintain the HR SharePoint platform and ensure accurate recordkeeping; update organizational charts as staffing changes occur.
Provide exceptional service to internal stakeholders; conduct ergonomic evaluations with Facilities Manager.
Coordinate leaves of absence communications and open enrollment activities; assist with onboarding events (e.g., New Hire Lunches).
Assist with recruitment support and open enrollment activities; monitor compliance with leave policies and poster requirements.
Provide backup support for Receptionist as needed; uphold confidentiality and uphold company policies.
Undertake additional projects and assignments as directed by the HR Director or Executive Team.
Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree or higher required; Bachelor's degree preferred; HR certification or equivalent experience required.
Experience: 4 years of HR experience (preferably in HR Assistant or Coordinator roles) required; 3+ years in Payroll, Benefits, Safety, and Leave of Absence preferred; 2+ years of administrative assistance required (3+ years preferred).
Skills: Strong understanding of federal and California employment laws related to benefits, leave, payroll, wage & hour, disability, and workers’ compensation; proficiency in HRIS software (preferably ADP); Microsoft Office Suite proficiency; ability to collaborate and communicate across all levels; CPR/PHR/SHRM certifications preferred.
