Overview
NewGen Administrative Services is hiring an Accounts Receivable Consultant (ARC) to be the newest member of our team. The ARC will supervise, train, and develop the Business Office Manager (BOM) and Business Office Assistant (BOA) to maintain accurate billing and collection of all accounts receivable, including Private, Medicaid, Medicare, Hospice, VA, and Managed Care. This position trains on all aspects of billing, eligibility, claims, banking, and accounting and EMR software. This position reports to the Director of ARC/RCM Systems and requires local travel 4 days a week in Central Valley, with a more specific region assigned based on location."; Responsibilities
Trains BOM and BOA on the technical knowledge and skills needed to succeed. Teaches all aspects of billing, claims, banking, accounting, and EMR software. Teaches eligibility for all payer types, such as Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial plans. Teaches authorization process for all payers. Teaches billing process for all payers. Teaches follow-up process for all payers, including claim correction and appeals. Teaches collection process for private accounts, including small claims court, collection agencies, and referrals. Works with the facility to improve billing processes, such as Triple Check and PPS. Helps recruit and interview candidates for BOM and AOM positions. Makes recommendations regarding hiring, performance management, and termination of Business Office personnel (seriously considered). Works with BOM on leadership and development of their AOM. Performs exit reports with the Administrator after visits. Visits each facility monthly; attends Triple Check and PPS at each facility at least once per quarter; attends A-Z aging review with BOM and Administrator quarterly; reviews 120+ day aging with each BOM monthly. Completes month-end close with each facility monthly. Maintains software and performs new facility and user setup. Has a general understanding of PNLs. Travel locally and out of area as needed to support and consult with facilities, including overnight travel. Follows all HIPAA regulations. Maintains regular attendance. Qualifications
Education: High School graduate or equivalent required; college degree preferred. AR/Business Office experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility – required. 3–5 years of experience as an AR Consultant. Knowledge and experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing. Experience in private collections. Excellent computer skills, including keyboarding and MS Office. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical information and communicate effectively in English. Strong communication and customer service skills; empathetic. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, staff, and outside resources. Physical requirements: normal hearing/vision or suitable prosthetics to meet job functions; ability to lift 25 pounds; ability to stand/walk for extended periods; ability to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed.
