Type of Position:

This position will begin as a 12-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 12 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.

Candidate Requirements:

This role is working for a major defense contractor. Candidates must be either US Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) to be eligible for this role. Candidates on CPT, OPT, H1B, TN, or other visas are not eligible for this role. Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen (including testing for cannabis).

Job Location:

Phoenix, AZ (on site role, just south of the airport).

Compensation:

$17.00/hr to start. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours. Some overtime is expected to be available in this role.

Benefits: Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) - benefit eligibility begins the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment. This role will have 5 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO. Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a leading provider of secure, mission-critical technologies for aerospace and defense. We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Materials Handler. In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within our organization. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to take direction will be essential for ensuring efficient inventory control, accurate documentation, and quality compliance. We are ideally seeking candidates who have an understanding of the AS9100 standard (but we will train candidates who don't have this experience). Candidates who have experience with Oracle will have an advantage. We would love to have you join our team!

Responsibilities:

Materials Management

Receive incoming materials, verify contents against documentation, and inspect for quality and accuracy Identify and properly label materials for storage or distribution, ensuring adherence to AS9100 standards Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels; reconcile discrepancies and report issues as needed Implement proper storage techniques to preserve and protect materials, including adhering to environmental and handling requirements Documentation and Record Keeping

Maintain thorough records of all incoming and outgoing materials, noting quantities, lot numbers, serial numbers, and all relevant data Create and update material handling documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, and inventory reports Ensure all documentation is completed promptly, accurately, and in compliance with AS9100 requirements AS9100 Compliance

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of AS9100 requirements, ensuring all handling activities comply with these standards (we will train on this standards if you're not familiar). Participate in audits and inspections pertaining to AS9100, providing necessary documentation and support Identify opportunities for process improvement; collaborate on corrective actions and non-conformance issues with quality assurance and other departments Team Collaboration

Work closely with procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure timely, accurate material availability for manufacturing processes Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders regarding material availability, shortages, and delivery schedules Provide support to other departments as needed by fulfilling material requests and maintaining proper material flow Qualifications / Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent or GED is required at a minimum. Proven experience as a Materials Handler or in a similar role, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing Excellent organizational and time management abilities; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality Proficient in using computer systems/software for inventory management and record keeping Ability to lift and move heavy objects and safely operate material handling equipment Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate across departments Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Preferred:

Strong knowledge and practical experience with AS9100 requirements in daily operations is preferred (we will train on this if you're not familiar). AS9100 certification is highly preferred. Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

This is a 1st (day) shift position following a 9/80 schedule. Employees typically work nine-hour days from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (including a one-hour lunch) Monday through Thursday, and a six-hour day on alternating Fridays. Every other Friday is a scheduled day off. There will be occasional overtime which would be compensated at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate. This will be an on-site role (no hybrid / remote work). Offer may be contingent upon passing a background check and a drug screen (drug screen would include Cannabis because this role works for a defense contractor). EOE (including Disability/Veterans)
