Audit Manager Skills:
Audit Manager, CPA, Assurance, Audit, GAAP, Leadership About the Accounting Company / The Opportunity: Our client, a highly decorated CPA firm in Torrance, CA, is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with middle-market companies across various industries such as manufacturing, distribution, and professional services. As an Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality assurance services, building strong client relationships, and mentoring a team of professionals. This position offers a chance to contribute to the success of a leading firm while advancing your career in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities: Provide timely, high-quality client service, including coordinating audits of financial statements, disclosures, and other deliverables. Review and supervise assurance engagement team work to ensure compliance with firm quality control procedures. Collaborate with Partners on risk assessment, audit programs, and budgeting for engagements. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing guidance and constructive feedback to improve outcomes. Advise clients on economic and regulatory risks while resolving complex accounting issues. Apply GAAP principles to complex scenarios, preparing technical memos and serving as a technical resource. Communicate engagement progress to Partners and propose timely solutions to technical or scheduling challenges. Provide leadership and training to develop team members while fostering a supportive work environment. Manage engagements profitably, including direct responsibility for client billing. Participate in recruiting efforts and lead professional development initiatives. Must-Have Skills: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA certification. 8+ years of experience in a public accounting firm. Minimum of 5 years of supervising and training experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with QuickBooks and ProSystems. CPG/Manufacturing industry experience Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously. Strong business development and marketing acumen. Willingness and ability to travel to client locations. Experience preparing and delivering client presentations. Seniority level:
