Overview
Join LAWS as the Bilingual Family Advocate. The Bilingual (English/Spanish) Family Advocate is a key member of the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center (CAC) – a program of LAWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services. This position provides trauma-informed support, education, information and referrals, crisis intervention, and case management services for children referred to Loudoun CAC due to alleged maltreatment. The Family Advocate works with the child and non-offending caregivers from investigation through all stages of prosecution, providing consistent, reliable, and comprehensive advocacy and support services to promote healing. The Family Advocate works collaboratively with the CAC team and MDT partners to ensure services are organized, holistic and meet the best practice standards for Loudoun CAC. LAWS was founded in 1984 as Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice, Inc. and operates an emergency domestic violence shelter, 24/7 survivor hotline, therapy, advocacy, legal services, and the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center. LAWS also runs The Resourceful Woman thrift store to support services. All services are confidential and free of charge. The work of the LAWS team is well-respected, rewarding, and important. Required Education And Experience Bachelor\'s Degree, and one-year related experience (child protection, juvenile justice, or similar human services field).
