We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk professional to join a leading global financial institution. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in strengthening the firm’s custody and wealth management businesses by providing second-line oversight and guidance on operational risk matters. The position is ideal for a risk leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, and wants to make a meaningful impact on governance, controls, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
Provide second-line oversight of operational risk across custody operations, ensuring alignment with the firm’s risk appetite. Review and challenge first-line risk assessments, control testing, loss event data, and issue management. Support the development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Review and challenge Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) to validate risk identification and adequacy of controls. Identify emerging operational risks and support scenario analysis to evaluate potential impacts. Monitor incident and issue management, ensuring timely escalation and effective resolution. Prepare and contribute to risk committee reporting and oversight materials. Support regulatory exam preparation and assist in addressing audit findings. Act as a trusted advisor to custody operations, providing SME guidance on risk mitigation and control design. Partner with Compliance, Legal, and other risk management functions to drive a coordinated approach to risk governance. Seniority level
