Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Trademark Paralegal for the Trademark Portfolio Services department of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. The Trademark Paralegal will be responsible for providing assistance to attorneys in all aspects of trademark portfolio management, copyright portfolio management, and IP due diligence. This position can reside in either of the following locations: Washington, D.C., Boston, New York, Houston, Philadelphia, Orange County, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Seattle or Chicago with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility with overtime is required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Preparing applications for trademark and service mark registration.
Preparing ancillary prosecution and maintenance filings.
Preparing Trademark Trial and Appeal Board filings and trademark record title update filings.
Assisting with trademark and copyright due diligence.
Performing online preliminary trademark clearance searches, and preparing search guides.
Preparing applications for copyright registrations.
Drafting correspondence to clients and local counsel related to trademark prosecution and maintenance issues.
Keeping attorneys apprised of upcoming deadlines and coordinating with attorneys to keep clients updated of same.
Performing other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of trademark prosecution/maintenance experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
A paralegal Certificate is strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
Advanced knowledge of legal research and investigation skills.
Proven ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Ability to prioritize workload, assignments, and client needs.
Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands, and function as an integral part of a fast-paced team environment.

Salary ranges by location: New York, NY / Silicon Valley, CA / San Francisco, CA: $91,500 - $146,325. Orange County, CA / Seattle, WA: $87,800 - $140,450. Chicago, IL: $80,500 - $128,800. Washington, DC: $84,200 - $134,600. The base salary wage range will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on factors including experience, expertise, and market conditions. The total compensation package may include an annual discretionary bonus and participation in benefits plans as described below.
The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for a 401(k) plan and company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance, and health savings and flexible spending accounts for the employee and eligible dependents. Eligible employees may utilize the Employee Assistance Program, Work/Life Services, HealthAdvocate, Bright Horizons Back-Up Child Care, and WageWorks Commuter Benefits. Employees will also receive nine paid holidays per calendar year, two personal days per year, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. In accordance with state applicable law, eligible employees will earn one paid sick leave hour for 30 hours worked. Eligible employees may take up to five days of bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year, and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy. Details of participation in these benefits will be provided if an offer of employment is made. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will" position and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation or benefit programs at any time.
