In this leadership role, you will oversee legal support for corporate development transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and minority investments, as well as managing a portfolio of existing investments. Your work will influence Swiss Re’s global business strategy and growth trajectory. Key Responsibilities
Act as a trusted advisor and primary contact for Corporate Development leadership, balancing governance and enablement responsibilities. Ensure high-quality service delivery by your team and external counsel, while driving efficiency and continuous improvement. Lead and mentor a team of four senior M&A lawyers, fostering professional development and ensuring resource adequacy. Monitor legal and regulatory developments, and promote knowledge-sharing and targeted training across the team. Contribute to strategic planning and reporting as part of the Corporate Centre & Group Functions Legal Leadership Team, supporting the team’s general counsel on budget, resources, and initiatives. We are an international centre of excellence for M&A legal matters across Swiss Re Group. We collaborate with Corporate Development to manage complex transactions with precision and agility. As team lead, you will engage regularly with senior stakeholders across Legal & Compliance, Corporate Development, and business units. About You
You are a strategic leader with strong organisational skills and a hands-on approach to complex deal execution. You are a persuasive communicator and trusted advisor who builds collaborative relationships and navigates challenges with pragmatism and insight. You thrive in dynamic environments and excel at managing competing priorities. To Succeed In This Role, You Will Bring
Attorney qualification with at least 10 years of international experience in a major law firm or global corporation Extensive experience in cross-border M&A Proven leadership in project and/or people management Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the (re)insurance industry Familiarity with corporate law and securities regulations Proficiency in additional languages (especially German) Exposure to digital transformation in legal service delivery Salary
The estimated base salary range for this position is $212,000 to $318,000. The specific salary offered will consider location, scope, qualifications, experience, and budget. Swiss Re uses a total compensation approach, considering base pay, incentives, and benefits. About Swiss Re
