We have over 100 years of industrial experience on projects as small as $500 and as large as $40M, performed in every time zone of the United States. Scaffold Builder: Leadman Primary Purpose:

A scaffold builder is responsible for building up and breaking down temporary scaffold structures.

Responsibilities

Assemble and dismantle scaffolding structures that allow workers to access specific portions of a building to perform work.

Build, position, and dismantle wooden structures, such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters, according to sketches, blueprints, or company standards.

Work at heights and perform duties that require climbing, walking, and working at elevated locations.

Supervise thedismantling of scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.

Inspect and properly stow scaffolding material after dismantling and perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.

Ensure proper securing and leveling of locking sections and scaffolding to permanent structures for added stability.

Load, transport, and unload materials; determine type of scaffold needed and how to instruct on installation.

Oversee transport of tubular scaffold or other structural material and erect scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.

Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structures.

Follow safety and quality standards in all scaffold-building activities.

Requirements

Work at heights with no fear.

Examine, select, and gather materials and tools.

Examine blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure.

Inspect base surface for obstructions.

Saw boards and plywood panels to required sizes using carpentry tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars.

Assemble scaffold containing handrails, mid rails, braces and planks, toe boards, screening, locking pins and wheels to job specifications.

Load, transport, and unload materials.

Determine type of scaffold needed and how to properly install it; provide instructions accordingly.

Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding and anchor to permanent structures for stability.

Ensure safe dismantling and proper storage of scaffolding materials after use.
