Location/Division Specific Information Location: Your home office will be situated in Germany, and serving customers remotely and on-site as this position entails frequent travel (40%) to client locations, as well as to external and internal events, both domestically and occasionally abroad.
Division The Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division (CSD) is leading the global democratization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) to accelerate translational research and improve clinical outcomes.
The division is positioned around three core pillars including: winning in oncology, driving focused growth in translational research that will advance into the clinic, and expanding into applied markets including reproductive health and more. With our easily-adoptable end-to-end Ion Torrent sequencing technologies running central to each of these pillars, we are turning rapid, turnkey in-house testing for decentralized community hospitals and precision diagnostics into a reality.

A day in the Life:
Support the clinical market on the flawless operation of Thermo Fisher Scientific/Ion Torrent Next-Generation Sequencing product portfolio with a focus on oncology. Provide scientific application support & training to our clinical customers, contributing substantially to customer satisfaction. Lead the implementation of assays, products, and clinical solutions within customer sites. Effectively manage and resolve blocking issues from customers through in-depth troubleshooting. Support sales in the achievement of regional sales targets by delivering product line-specific pre- and post-sales customer support activities. Nurture ties with essential Thermo Fisher Scientific collaborating partners; develop and supervise relationships with pivotal decision-makers or potential influencers. Keys to Success: Education MSc and/or PhD preferred (or equivalent experience in science) in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Life Sciences, or similar. Experience Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technology is required (which could also be limited to data analysis). Experience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal form. Previous background in a support/training-related role is preferred but not required. Prior experience interacting with customers is preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong communication and presenting skills are essential. Ability to connect with and support people with varying levels of technical knowledge and expertise. Emotional intelligence to understand customer concerns. Strong commercial attitude. Independent and dedicated. Great teammate capable of collaborating effectively with various internal and external partners. Analytical mind with the strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems. Good computer and IT skills with an interest in groundbreaking technologies. Willingness to travel within the territory (estimated 40%). Proficient in German (B1/2 level) and English. Valid driving license and passport.
