Senior Consultant, Air Quality and Compliance
ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Air Quality and Compliance to join our Air Quality & Climate Change technical team in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will manage and contribute technically to air quality compliance assurance, permitting, climate change, and related compliance projects with multi-national clients locally and throughout the country. You will network with ERM's national air quality technical team to share consulting opportunities, business relationships, and best practices to address client needs. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and strategic direction for expanding ERM's air quality service area and client base in the Midwest market, particularly in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business. Direct strategic air permits and compliance assurance programs for industrial clients with complex technical/regulatory issues. Build client relationships, understand processes, and develop permitting and compliance strategies to maximize operating flexibility. Meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations. Serve as a senior technical resource on air quality compliance assurance and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses of industrial facility operations; major and minor source permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state regulations; NESHAP MACT compliance; EPCRA reporting and compliance; and dispersion modeling. Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s profile and market share in regional air quality and climate change markets through technical delivery and business development. Mentor junior and mid-level staff in planning and execution of air quality projects, and in conducting independent technical reviews of deliverables. Support the growth of ERM’s global air quality and climate change services and collaborate with global practitioners on cross-office projects. Requirements
BS/MS in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental), environmental science, or related field. PE license desired or equivalent experience. 3+ years of relevant experience in air quality and compliance consulting. Established reputation and recognized technical expertise in the marketplace. Proven business development experience for large air quality/regulatory compliance contracts with ability to contribute to ERM’s sales goals. Consulting experience with Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Established relationships with regulatory authorities and large private-sector industrial companies in the Midwest and/or Southeastern US.
