The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job. It does not identify all tasks that may be expected, nor address the performance standards that must be maintained.

Primary Function To support new and current project development, including system analysis, planning and preparation. To act as the primary resource dedicated to designing, building, testing, and implementation in collaboration with appropriate departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Attend meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.

Work with training team to develop application specific training curriculums and materials.

Develop and maintain models and documentation of operations, business and system requirements and configure system accordingly.

Work closely with stakeholders and end users to identify business needs and the cost and benefits of implementing a solution. Log, track, analyze, resolve issues, and coordinate system changes.

Achieves and maintains certification status in assigned application(s) and working knowledge of assigned applications.

Provide support and proactive service, by phone and through regular onsite visits, to assess user needs including analysis of opportunities to take advantage of existing workflows and tools.

Contribute to preparation of testing scripts and materials and perform unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.

Champion the project, provide support in the ongoing implementations, optimizations, and upgrades.

Assist in system upgrades or enhancements to existing workflows.

Develop, support and maintain documentation and procedures as needed. Acts as a resource to coworkers regarding build and workflow in application area.

Complete project tasks independently within designated timelines.

Perform work and duties after hours and on weekends as required.

Provide system configuration and new project development, design implementation, workflow optimization, change management, and issue resolution related to the Clinic’s applications.

Use independent analysis and research issues to produce solution options including pros, cons, risks, benefits, and unintended consequences.

Collaborate with other IT analysts and vendors to identify system optimization and enhancements in order to design and implement effective solutions.

Detects and anticipates problems early, identify trends, acts as a second level of support while mentoring and assisting in training of Epic Support staff.

Travel to various locations, including occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Participate as an active team member in a Patient Centered Medical Home.

Maintain regular, in person work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.

Other tasks as assigned.

Education/Licenses Required Associates degree in Information Services or a related IS or healthcare field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Epic Certification or achieve certification in designated application(s) within 6 months of hire.

Experience/Qualifications Required 2 years Epic application systems analyst experience OR 1 year relevant healthcare or systems experience with 1 year of Epic applications systems analyst experience. Aptitude and willingness for learning new processes and software applications. Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling for use in both verbal and written communication. Ability to accept responsibility and use initiative to proceed with necessary tasks without direct supervision.

Education/Licenses Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related IS or healthcare field. Epic Certification.

Experience/Qualifications Preferred 3 years Epic application systems analyst. Proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create materials and documentation. Maintains calm demeanor under pressure. Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage large scale organizational change as well as managing multiple priorities. Excellent oral, written, and one-on-one communication skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization. Capacity to partner with clinic and technical team leaders in planning and implementing technology training solutions in support of new applications. Experience in a clinical, administrative, financial, or technology department in healthcare setting is strongly desired. Able to present in front of large groups. Experience developing and conducting training in medical setting. Able to evaluate student development needs and effectively recognize student successes. Experience with Visio software to document workflows and diagrams.
