Investment Advisor in Public Funds The ideal candidate will expand the Public Funds division by identifying prospects, analyzing portfolios, and developing strategies for closing new business throughout California and neighboring states. Requirements include residing on the West Coast, preferably in California. The main focus will be business development within the public sector. Primary Responsibilities Expand the Public Funds Division Coordinate information flow between clients, staff, operations, and investments Analyze various investment options to identify and propose optimal solutions Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and other written communication Attend conferences and municipal events for networking Educate clients and prospects on market events and investment opportunities Support sales, marketing, and service initiatives Critical Success Factors Understanding of capital markets, especially fixed income Financial modeling, review, and analysis skills Project management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks Self-motivated with a track record in business development Strategic thinking and acting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective presentation skills for varied audiences Personal and professional integrity Initiative, process improvement, and problem-solving abilities Quantitative problem-solving and analytical skills Organizational skills and attention to detail Relationship management skills Willingness to travel regularly Skills Required Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in public sector/municipal finance, banking, investment management, or financial services with increasing responsibility CFP, CFA, CMT, or other professional designation/candidacy is a plus Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
