Join the team that brought you the Echo Show, a touch-screen enabled Alexa device that supports video calling, music, weather, and more. Our Echo Software team works on Echo Show and other high-profile consumer electronics products including Fire TV and the Echo family of devices. We’d love to have you join us to bring innovative experiences to millions of customers. As a software engineer in the Alexa Endpoint Experiences team, you will help drive innovation by developing features that present innovative speech-backed visuals on our Echo Show, Echo Spot, and similar screened Alexa devices. Specifically, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Multimedia experiences, partnering with other Amazon and third-party services and device teams as required. You will ensure that Alexa almost never drops her end of the conversation, delivering services that respond with minimal latency at Amazon scale. Responsibilities

Own the high level design and development for Multimedia experiences for Echo family of Devices (including new Device launches) with Alexa

Deliver high quality software through working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment

Mentor and train young engineers in the team to build quality software

Collaborate with UX and Product owners to define customer experience and product direction

Design documents - authoring and review

Working with partner teams to plan out new features

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
