About the Role We’re looking for a seasoned engineer to provide technical leadership for our Payments Engineering team. You’ll design and build reliable, secure, and scalable systems powering transactions across five continents and 26 countries.
This role requires experience with complex, global-scale systems, where reliability, security, and compliance are critical. You’ll work closely with a team of 5–6 full-stack engineers, define architectural standards, set technical direction, and collaborate with Product, Compliance, Finance, and Risk teams. Together, you’ll deliver seamless payment solutions via embedded SDKs and direct API integrations.

What You’ll Do
Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and highly available payment systems.
Drive delivery of Payment SDKs and APIs for seamless partner integrations.
Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Finance, and external providers to deliver compliant, high-impact solutions.
Champion best practices in observability, incident management, and regulatory compliance.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead role.
Extensive experience designing and delivering scalable microservices, SDKs, and APIs to enable seamless integrations.
Hands-on proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and Docker (React is a plus).
Experience building and operating complex, enterprise-scale, global systems with high reliability, security, and compliance requirements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Deep understanding of payment ecosystems (gateways, acquirers, fraud prevention, 3DS, tokenization).
Experience with PSPs like Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Worldpay, or regional providers.
Familiarity with both card-present (POS) and card-not-present payment flows.
Knowledge of settlement, reconciliation, and treasury processes.
Exposure to PSD2 and PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance.
