Your responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role with a primary focus on Market Risk and Credit Risk management, while also supporting broader risk-related initiatives across the organization. As part of Uniper’s North America Risk team you’ll help shape and implement advanced risk analytics, valuation methodologies, and trading optimization strategies. This role supports commercial activities across Uniper’s North American portfolio, with a particular emphasis on Gas markets. Key responsibilities include: Monitor and analyze trading portfolios including counterparty exposure analysis, trading limit management, portfolio surveillance and de-risking strategies. Proactively identify and manage risk profiles to safeguard Uniper’s interests including distressed scenario valuation and periodic risk reviews. Model gas transaction exposures to support real-time risk decision making Manage collateral and margins requirements, as well as ability to negotiate and administer different types of securities (bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, letters of credit, etc.). Validate transaction valuations, particularly for structured deals. Oversee the integrity of marking methodologies for curves and volatility surfaces. Support implementation of new risk systems and methodologies. Assist with compiling and presenting information for ad hoc requests and monthly risk committee meetings. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Commercial team, Management, counterparties). Collaborate with European colleagues with regards to North American portfolio management, deal flow, and reporting. Champion methodologies and processes alignment with Uniper’s HQ. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related discipline) required; advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) strongly encouraged. 5+ years of working in a trading/banking organization in a middle office, credit risk, or trading role. Experience in North American physical and financial commodity markets, preferably in natural gas and/or renewable products. Ability to develop internal pricing methodology by enhancing existing platforms as well as integrating external platforms. Experience in programming language such as C#, Python, VBA, Matlab, R or equivalent. Proficiency in SQL required. Individual must enjoy engaging with different business stakeholders to ensure the commercial value of their analytics, and be able to communicate quantitative and technical content succinctly. Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders, as well as ability to present complex concepts in simple terms.
