This position is hybrid in Houston, TX JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the oversight of forecasting and reporting selling expense. Responsible for providing insight and analysis of financial operating results. . RESPONSIBILITIES Determine the key drivers of variances versus last year results, plan and forecast

Make recommendations to management to improve profitability

Provide specific analysis as to the key drivers of expenses and the key drivers as to variances to last year and to plan

Identify and drive opportunities to control costs and reduce expenses

Quantify the financial impact of key cost control initiatives

Ensure overall trends and the impacts of key initiatives are reflected accurately in the forecast

Work with each department to ensure they understand the overall forecast and how the impact of the key initiatives they are responsible for are reflected in the forecast

Ensure overall trends and the impacts of key initiatives are reflected accurately in the profit plan

Participate in the recruiting and training of finance associates

Responsible for performance management and development of finance associates

Play a key role in the annual planning cycle

Individual must champion and be the local expert in Sysco’s analytical toolbox

Work on other ad-hoc projects requested by executive management and other leadership positions.

Managing a team of analyst

Education Bachelor's degree in an analytical field

(e.g., Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline).

MBA , Masters preferred

Experience At least 5 years financial analyst required

Prior managerial experience required

Skills Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, proficient use of other MS Office tools.

Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically and influence business decisions using appropriate, fact-based financial information. This is very fundamental to the role.

Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and professional interactive skills, as well as strong presentation, negotiation, time management, and organizational skills. Able to communicate financial data to non-finance people.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently

Demonstrate strong, proactive problem-solving skills
