ANALYST needed at a multi-billion dollar HEDGE FUND on site in NYC only! Base $175k - $240k plus discretionary bonus. Must have 4 - 10 years of experience in investment manager analysis and/or portfolio analytics/analysis ideally gained at an investment consulting firm, fund-of-funds, endowment, allocator, investment firm or investment bank. Our client is currently seeking a talented Analyst to join their accounting and operations team with a focus on analysis supporting their investor relations and marketing effort. Job Description: As an Analyst, you will prepare, analyze and interpret financial and sector data with a particular focus on reporting to and responding to inquiries from their current and potential investors and their investor relations and marketing team in their preparation for discussions with their current and potential investors. You will also be expected (with high-level guidance) to craft a narrative based on your analysis. Analyses will include both recurring and ad-hoc deliverables, including analysis of how the firm invests historically and trends in its investor base, capital markets analysis, sector analytics and research regarding trends in the sector (intellectual property, sources of financing, partnerships, capital flows), with an objective of adding to explanations of the strategy and investment tactics of the funds they advise and the companies and types of securities in which they invest. In addition to preparing these outputs, the Analyst will be asked to think through effective ways of presenting and communicating the findings to current and potential clients. The Analyst will also have a series of regular, recurring deliverables (e.g., due diligence questionnaires, LP questionnaires, updating of marketing materials for which a recurring update of an analysis is needed). This role requires a blend of financial/accounting understanding, analytical skills, and communication skills. Experience working in analytics with a manager allocator, fund-of-funds, investment consultant, or similar institutional investment environment or as an investment banking professional is valued. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and interpret data from multiple sources, both internal and external (e.g. Bloomberg, market research reports, trading and accounting records, etc.) to generate comprehensive reports for current and prospective investors. - Prepare materials for investor meetings ensuring alignment with institutional investor expectations. - Ensure accurate financial reporting to clients and compliance with regulatory requirements. - Support the investor relations and marketing effort by preparing data-driven presentations, quarterly reports, and investor communication materials in various formats (PowerPoint presentations, Excel sheets, inputting into client questionnaires, write ups). - Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reports and analysis. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus. - Minimum of 4 years of experience in investment manager analysis and/or portfolio analytics/analysis, ideally gained at an investment consulting firm, fund-of-funds, endowment, allocator, investment firm, or investment bank. - Knowledge of financial markets and alternative investments. - Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and interest in leveraging AI tools. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Preferred Skills: - Proficient in financial data software such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, etc. - Proficiency in other types of data analysis tools and software is a plus. - Understanding of investor relations practices and regulatory requirements.
