As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. You will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment at a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. In this access control position, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, deter security-related incidents through your visible presence and proactive approach, and interact with employees, visitors, and contractors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. This post may involve working in areas with limited on-site facilities, such as rustic guard shacks. As this is a driving post, you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your duties. Position Type Part Time

Pay Rate $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule Days and times vary. Schedule includes shifts such as:

Wed 06:00 AM – 02:30 PM

Thu 06:00 AM – 02:30 PM

What You’ll Do

Use our scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

Support operations across environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education

Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams

Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service

Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security procedures, following site policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate

Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken as needed

Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns

Support enforcement of company policies related to access control and property protection in a tech, media, and telecom environment

Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and contractors to address inquiries and provide assistance

Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and client representatives to address and resolve security-related matters

What We’re Looking For

Availability across various days and shifts

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company

Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required

Customer service experience is preferred

CPR and First Aid certification is preferred

Experience at sites with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred

A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles

High school diploma or equivalent

Background check will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws

Drug screen as permitted by law

Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment
