Senior Vice President, Development & Current Series (TVA)
Disney Television Animation (TVA) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Vice President of Development & Current Series to lead the creative and strategic direction of TVA’s kids and family content slate. This executive will oversee the development and production of animated series, ensuring alignment with TVA’s storytelling excellence, brand values, and audience engagement goals. Responsibilities
Creative Leadership: Drive the development and execution of TVA’s current series and new content initiatives, ensuring creative excellence and brand alignment. Talent Collaboration: Partner with writers, producers, showrunners, and creative teams to shape compelling narratives and character-driven storytelling. Content Evaluation: Review scripts, treatments, and pitches to identify high-potential projects that reflect TVA’s creative vision and audience strategy. Strategic Oversight: Provide guidance throughout the development and production lifecycle, balancing creative ambition with operational feasibility. Industry Engagement: Represent TVA at industry events, festivals, and panels, maintaining awareness of market trends and emerging talent. Operational Management: Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple projects, ensuring timely execution and quality standards. Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with talent, agents, external partners, and internal stakeholders across Disney Entertainment Television. Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in television development or production at a network, studio, or production company. Proven track record of developing and launching successful animated content. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor creative teams. Excellent creative judgment and storytelling instincts. Deep industry relationships and knowledge of the animation and television landscape. Ability to manage multiple high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Education
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, Communications, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred. The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $340,800 to $457,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
