Overview The

General Building/Vertical Construction Superintendent

provides day to day oversight and direction to the foremen and field personnel assigned to on-site construction projects. He or she is responsible for protecting and promoting the interests and values of the company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy responsibilities. This person brings specialized knowledge and experience in executing projects and will serve as a primary contact for the owner, engineer and/or government official.

Responsibilities

Acumen to manage general building/vertical construction projects between 5-20 million dollars.

Be a strong and effective leader to the field crew along with various subcontractors. It is important that this candidate take initiative in developing less experienced personnel to further advance the company’s goals.

Be the primary person on site responsible for safety, including implementing site specific health and safety plans, and company safety rules and policies.

Review and understand project scope/plans, specifications, schedule, budget, and deliverables.

Plan daily crew work schedule including equipment and material needs.

Complete daily diaries & logs of the work performed in the day.

Maintain on site presence to understand site conditions and restrictions.

Identify risk items and develop plans to mitigate these associated risks.

Be able to travel within Northwest Ohio.

Qualifications

Experienced Superintendent (7+ years)

of building construction experience with at least two of those years overseeing the project in the role of General Building/Vertical Construction Superintendent.

Experience with K-12 building experience highly preferred.

A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Proven track record of successful projects as a superintendent or foreman.

OSHA 30-hour certification, OSHA Confined Space Entry Team certification, OSHA Excavation Safety Competent Person certification preferred (will train as necessary).

Effective organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills.

Underground utility knowledge.

Previous experience or use of GPS equipment

Ability to use a laptop and company designated software daily on the job site.

Proficiency in reading engineering documents and project plans.

Previous use of HCSS software preferred.
