The Basics (Hybrid Role - Part-time in office)
As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer focused on developing cloud technologies, you will build and maintain best-of-breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team. Tanium uses a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, iterating with product management and customers for feedback.
We’re looking for someone with:
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
CS Degree preferred
Locality

Experience
5+ years industry experience
Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs
Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other infrastructure technology
Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins
Other
Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportability
Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development
Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $355,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire and may be adjusted based on location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to base salary, team members receive equity awards and a benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, health accounts, 401(k) with company match, life, disability coverage, and other well-being benefits.

This is a hybrid position, requiring in-person attendance several days per week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.
