The position

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Payroll Operations Country (or Regional) Lead, joining our

Payroll

team.

Requirements

Extensive payroll experience in a client payroll environment. Expert legislative knowledge in the relevant country/region. Payroll implementation experience. Strong communication skills for explaining payroll processes and issues to customers and other stakeholders. Deep knowledge of local payroll tools and software tools like SAP, Excel / Google Sheets. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a drive to make an impact. Experience in accounting/reconciliations. Productivity-focused with ongoing ideas to improve and speed up work. Understanding of asynchronous work dynamics. Fluent English (written and spoken). Remote work experience is not required but considered a plus.

Key responsibilities

Act as a true subject matter expert for the specified country/region. Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of global payroll implementation projects, in collaboration with the Implementation team. Develop and maintain detailed project plans & timelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders involved in the implementation process, including internal teams and customers. Develop and implement standardized payroll processes and procedures for consistency and efficiency. Provide ongoing support during and after implementation to resolve issues. Support the country manager and operations team. Focus on KPIs and SLAs. Mentor and support payroll specialists. Collaborate with internal teams to improve the platform, conduct UAT testing through to shipping, and document changes.

Remote’s Total Rewards philosophy is to ensure fair, unbiased compensation and fair equity pay along with competitive benefits in all locations. We pay above in-location rates to avoid cheap-labor practices and to support global talent-hiring. Our salary bands are geo-based to reflect geographic pay differentials while remaining competitive globally. The base salary range for this full-time position is 75,350 - 84,800 EUR. Actual base pay depends on location, skills, experience, and business needs. The base salary range may change.

At Remote, we foster internal mobility as a key element of our culture, with compensation changes for internal moves reviewed case by case by the Total Rewards & People Enablement team.
