is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager to lead and manage all aspects of our facilities operations. This critical role ensures our infrastructure consistently supports the cutting-edge scientific research conducted by our teams. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and assisting with strategic planning of our buildings and grounds, ensuring they are maintained at the highest standard and comply with all relevant local and state regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a diverse technical background, strong leadership and communication skills, and a hands-on approach to day-to-day maintenance and long-term facilities planning. Key Responsibilities Oversee all facilities operations, including building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, grounds, and general repairs. Manage a team of 2 full-time staff,as well as third-party vendors and contractors. Ensure compliance with OSHA, county, state, and local codes and regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and generate reports identifying issues, required repairs, and proposed improvements. Develop and manage budgets, cost projections, and capital renewal programs. Maintain accurate record-keeping systems and procedures. Develop, coordinate and monitor preventive maintenance programs to minimize disruptions and ensure operational continuity. Provide strategic input for future facility needs and support planning for new projects. Serve as the primary point of contact during emergencies or critical equipment failures; must be available for on-call support. Collaborate closely with scientists and research staff to ensure infrastructure enables high-quality, reproducible scientific experiments. Required Qualifications HVAC systems and controls Plumbing and electrical maintenance Light carpentry, painting, masonry, and roofing Strong understanding of building codes, OSHA regulations, and facility support systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear reports, proposals, and correspondence. Experience in vendor management, including RFPs, contract negotiations, and quality control. Ability to lead and motivate staff, strong supervisory and organizational skills. High level of fiscal responsibility, with experience in budget management and cost control. Commitment to service excellence and supporting scientific research through effective infrastructure management. Ability to walk and inspect the facilities regularly. Must be on-call for emergency situations. Preferred Qualifications Background or familiarity with scientific research environments or laboratory settings. Construction management experience, particularly in planning or overseeing capital renewal projects. Degree or certification in facilities management, engineering, or related field is a plus.
