August 2025 - May 2026 POSITION DESCRIPTION: Student Ambassadors serve as enthusiastic representatives of Dominican University, offering a warm and informative first impression to prospective students, families, and campus visitors. Through campus tours, events, and personal interactions, Ambassadors play a key role in the admission experience - sharing what makes DU special and inspiring prospective students to envision themselves as part of the DU community. JOB COMPONENTS / PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead engaging campus tours that highlight Dominican’s academics, affordability, values, and your personal student experience. Represent the university with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm in all interactions with guests, families, and campus partners. Personalize tours and visits based on guests’ academic, athletic, or extracurricular interests. Support campus visit programs and events, including open houses, receptions, admitted student days, panels, and group visits. Connect with prospective students through the Unibuddy chat platform by responding to messages and fostering online engagement. Collaborate with fellow ambassadors, Admission staff, and campus partners to support a positive team culture, create a welcoming environment and promote student belonging at events. Take the initiative to stay informed about university updates, programs, and student resources. Participate in required training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Must have the availability to work evenings, during break periods, and weekends to support special events. REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be a registered student at Dominican University. A minimum overall grade point average of 2.50 Display strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills as well as the potential to develop these skills. Passion for DU with a desire to share your story and experiences. Demonstrated skills for hospitality, customer service and creating high-impact experiences. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Demonstrate involvement on campus or in the community. Must complete the Student Ambassador Canvas course and training modules. Must be available to attend all Student Ambassador continuous (in-person or virtual) learning sessions. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This is a paid hourly position and does not count towards work study hours (this means you can hold another position on campus). Student Ambassadors can expect their hours to vary week-by-week based on campus events and campus tour opportunities. This position also includes a recognition program with meaningful experiences and awards.
