Overview
Children’s Ministry Summary:
Design, develop and execute all aspects of children’s ministry from birth to 5 th grade. Responsible for managing and scheduling of all paid and volunteer nursery staff ensuring complete excellence in the love, care, and spiritual growth of the children. Responsibilities
Offers complete support and trust to entire church staff promoting an environment of all working together towards the same ultimate goal of life transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Develops and manage all paid and volunteer nursery staff Provides guidance and direction in all aspects of Children’s Ministry Ensures appropriate child-to-staff ratio is within acceptable limits at all times Provides appropriate and up-to-date security and safety measures for all components of nursery and Children’s ministry Provides a loving and Christian educational environment that leads the children to discovering and developing a real relationship with Jesus Assists in identifying, recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers within the Children’s Ministry Educates and promotes to the church community the opportunities, purpose, and importance of children’s ministry Maintains a yearly Children’s Events calendar to be updated quarterly and promotes these events through various church communications Manages Children’s Ministry social media communications on Instagram and Facebook Develops a virtual program when not able to meet in person, utilizing: videos and devotionals on youtube.com; Instagram Live; Zoom calls Maintains personal contact with families in the Children’s Ministry via mail, phone calls, texts, and emails Updates/maintains a safe, creative, and fun children’s ministry space including dcor, storage, and design Supervises a leadership program within Children’s Ministry for 3 rd – 5 th grade children Plans an age appropriate missions experience Develops an annual budget and manages program to ensure spending stays within budget Directs all Family Ministry events, including but not limited to: Wednesday nights, Children’s Church on Sunday mornings, Easter Egg Hunt, VBS, Fall Festival, Christmas activities and summer programs Ensures that Safe Sanctuary policies are adhered to at all times to protect the safety of the children Other duties as assigned Continuing Education
Attends annually a Children’s Ministry conference to gain inspiration and encouragement for developing relevant programs Required Skills & Abilities
High school graduate Attended at least two years of college Strong commitment to excellence and sold out to the mission, purpose, and vision of CFUMC and the UMC Discipline Genuine and contagious heart for God Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail oriented Ability to be strategic and prioritize personal duties along with the duties of the volunteer staff with confidence and very limited guidance Ability to work under tight time frames in stressful situations Strong love and understanding of all children Satisfy requirements of Safe Sanctuary certification
