Overview
Sonoran Chapel is seeking a
Student Ministries Director (pastor)
to lead our Junior High, High School, and potentially Young Adult ministries. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends vision casting with daily ministry execution. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings creativity to problem-solving, and connects naturally with students, parents, and volunteers. Biblical Discipleship, Collective Worship, Authentic Community, and a Culture of Service. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
– Partner with the Executive Pastor and staff to design and implement a multi-year ministry strategy aligned with the church’s mission. Weekly Gatherings
– Create and lead engaging Junior High and High School programs that balance fun, community, worship, and in-depth Bible teaching. Camps & Retreats
– Plan and oversee summer and winter camps, managing fundraising, promotion, logistics, and partnerships with other ministries. Missions
– Lead annual local and out-of-state mission trips (e.g., IMPACT for Junior High, SMI for High School). Develop curriculum, train teams, and ensure meaningful experiences. Volunteer Development
– Recruit, mentor, and empower volunteers for long-term ministry impact. Communication
– Maintain clear communication with staff, parents, and students through tools like Planning Center, ProPresenter, texting apps, and email. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries, Biblical Studies, Theology, or Secondary Education (Bible minor preferred). At least
2 years of leadership experience
in student ministry, mentorship, or program development. Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse group of students. Proven ability to organize, lead, and grow ministries in a church setting. Proficiency with ministry and communication platforms (Planning Center, ProPresenter, digital messaging, etc.).
