Position Details The Vice President for Research will work to foster a culture of high-quality and high-impact research and scholarship as a senior member of the university’s leadership team, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Key responsibilities will include: Assembling a strong leadership team by appointing associate vice presidents and assistant vice presidents. Improving staff morale and building trust through improved communications with faculty and staff in the Office of Research and across campus. Engaging with deans and academic leaders to grow federally funded research and supporting faculty in attracting large-scale grants. Encouraging a culture of creative activity across disciplinary boundaries and leading research initiatives. Renewing and strengthening the infrastructure and capacities of the Office of Research and championing UGA research. Partnering with the Honors College and the Graduate School in supporting undergraduate and graduate students in research.
