Posted Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM Position Summary: The San Ysidro Health (SYHealth) Research and Health Promotion Department augments the health center’s clinical care with health education, health promotion, and research programs for patients and community members. Under the direct supervision of the All of Us Research Program Supervisor, the Research Assistant will help support day to day functions of the All of Us Research Program with a focus on enrolling pediatric patients and their families. Primary responsibilities include recruitment and enrollment of participants along with data collection and entry. This is a full-time, temporary role. Initial assignment is anticipated to conclude April 2026, subject to change based on business need. Essential Functions of the Job: Edit and submit study protocols and other required research documentation Engages, recruits, and enrolls study participants according to study protocols Obtains informed consent for all study participants Performs data entry using the study data management system (ie; REDCap) Performs or assists with routine data verification and quality controls to ensure data integrity and consistency Retains participants into the program by supporting completion of additional program activities through various methods (e.g., in-person, virtual) Assists in the setup, operation, and maintenance of research equipment and/or instrumentation as specifically instructed Collects physical measurements and biospecimen according to study protocols Tracks research participants and performs follow-up tasks according to study protocol Identifies and implements strategies to increase recruitment, enrollment and retention efforts Provides assistance in a variety of tasks in support of established recruitment and retention goals Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator, Program Manager, and Program Supervisor as needed Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs Attends meetings as required and participates in committees as directed Performs other duties assigned Job Requirements
Experience Required: Experience working in the field of public health, research projects, and/or working with community based organizations Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or similar field Certifications Required: Human Subjects Protection Certificate (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire) Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job: Excellent oral and written communication skills Provides positive customer service skills; is an active listener and provides support and guidance to others Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job: Superb organizational ability and exceptionally analytical Good organizational skills and ability to remain focused and concentrate with noise around Ability to handle multiple job task functions simultaneously Ability to work harmoniously with others as a team member Equipment Used: Computers, Software systems, Scanner, Telephones, Copy and Fax machines. Familiarity with excel and database management software (ex: REDCap) Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Prolonged, extensive, and considerable standing/sitting/walking/lifting Manual dexterity and mobility Always reaching, stooping bending, kneeling, crouching May be required to work evenings and/or weekends, and provide staffing coverage at any SYHealth facility as needed Universal Requirements: Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs.
