Core Responsibilities
Water Management & Compliance
Lead compliance programs for water-related permits, including: Water pollution control Potable water systems Stormwater management Dewatering operations Conduct and oversee regulatory inspections both on-site and off-site Direct hydrologic investigations and reporting Manage complex permitting activities and application processes Supervise well drilling operations and design Technical Leadership
Review and analyze: Water level data Water quality parameters Geochemical trends Monitoring well data Provide technical guidance for hydrologic investigations Coordinate with subject matter experts on complex water-related issues Team Leadership & Development
Mentor and develop Environmental Engineers, Specialists, and Technicians Oversee data collection, evaluation, and reporting to management and agencies Coordinate with contractors and manage project budgets Collaborate with stakeholders across Carlin, NGM, and Barrick operations Safety & Environmental Standards
Ensure alignment with NGM Health, Safety, and Environmental ISO 14001 and 45001 standards Champion safety and environmental programs Provide training to NGM employees and contractors Respond to after-hours environmental incidents as needed Physical Requirements
Ability to traverse uneven, sloped, rocky, wet, or icy terrain Capable of safely lifting 40+ pounds Regular field work required Key Attributes

Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Hydrology Hydrogeology Environmental Engineering Mining Engineering Related field Master's Degree in Hydrology or Hydrogeology (preferred) Experience
5+ years of environmental compliance experience Minimum 3 years in an industrial setting Demonstrated experience with regulatory agency interactions 3+ years of supervisory experience Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects Technical Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency with compliance systems Working knowledge of ISO 14001 standards Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Professional Skills
