Our client, an innovative medical device manufacturer, is seeking an experienced
Embedded Firmware Engineer
to join their early-stage new product development team. This role is hands-on and critical to bringing next-generation devices from concept into reality. You’ll work directly on embedded processors and wireless systems, building reliable, testable, and compliant firmware in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and test embedded firmware for medical devices using non-Linux microcontrollers. Configure and integrate peripherals (e.g., 1-Wire, I²C, SPI, UART) and support control loop development, memory map systems, and real-time schedulers. Develop automation and test infrastructure using tools such as Python and PyTest. Enable and validate wireless connectivity features including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Collaborate using Gitflow for version control and JIRA for tracking development tasks. Perform unit and integration testing, ensuring firmware meets performance, safety, and compliance requirements. Participate in code reviews, system architecture discussions, and microcontroller framework design. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and assist in implementing secure firmware practices. Required: Proven experience developing firmware for embedded processors (bare metal or RTOS, non-Linux). Embedded Firmware Development in C (~5 years of experience) Strong background in configuring and working with hardware peripherals. Hands-on experience with automation scripting and test frameworks (Python, PyTest). Wireless protocol development and debugging (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi). Familiarity with Gitflow workflows and issue-tracking tools such as JIRA. Unit and integration testing expertise for embedded systems.
