Position Summary
Fordham University's Marketing and Communications department seeks a talented Graphic Designer to join our team. This full-time, hybrid role supports the University's mission by producing high-quality print and digital materials that engage diverse audiences and strengthen Fordham's brand.
Reporting to the Assistant Creative Director, the Graphic Designer will collaborate across departments, adapt creative concepts into a variety of formats, and help drive the University's visual identity forward, especially for prospective students.
Essential Functions
Design & Creative Solve complex design problems with strategic, best-in-class solutions. Design print and digital materials following university brand standards while tailoring solutions to the goals of individual university partners (e.g., Career Services, Gabelli School of Business). Adapt concepts from senior designers into deliverables, including event collateral, publications, web banners, social media graphics, digital displays, and promotional items. Manage digital banner ads using Figma's publishing tool. Support organizing photo shoots, ability to do light retouching, and help maintain the photo asset system. Support the creative/brand team in applying and evolving brand guidelines across all channels, ensuring consistency and accessibility. Strategic
Apply current design trends, emerging technologies, and audience insights to guide creative direction. Maintain brand cohesion across campaigns and platforms. Present design concepts and campaigns to senior executives and refine based on feedback. Production & Project Management
Manage multiple projects and schedules in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality. Track progress in the department's project management system (Monday.com) and consistently meet deadlines. Oversee digital asset management, ensuring metadata standards and proper uploads. Oversee the production process from concept through pre-press, troubleshooting, and proofing. Collaboration & Leadership
Collaborate with managers, designers, editors, and writers while working independently when needed. Communicate clearly with stakeholders and recommend design and marketing solutions. Contribute to brainstorming sessions, strategy discussions, and creative reviews. Foster a positive, professional work culture by supporting colleagues across projects.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in graphic design and a minimum of 3 years of professional design experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Strong portfolio demonstrating print and digital design work (link or PDF required).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Proficiency with Figma.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Canva.
Strong typographic skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and collaborate across teams.
Calm, professional demeanor under pressure.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Starting Salary $65,000
Maximum Starting Salary $80,000
