The Supreme Court of Missouri is accepting applications for a deputy clerk in the Court en Banc office.

This position performs highly responsible work involving the administration of the judicial process for appeals, motions, petitions (reviews and writs), and applications for transfers. This position also provides staff support through researching case information and materials filed in the Supreme Court of Missouri.

Work involves high-quality customer service, aiding in court-related activities, and processing/recording fees and payments and court documents for the clerk's office. Position is one of multiple deputy clerks who are cross-trained in a variety of responsibilities, performing tasks independently, and requiring an exercise of judgment and discretion in making decisions.

Location: On site at Supreme Court of Missouri in Jefferson City

Salary and Benefits

Annual starting salary up to $39,928.00 depending on qualifications. * The salary reflected represents the base pay for this position and does not include any differential for time-of-service pay for state tenure.

Responsibilities - What you'll do

Review documents to ensure/enforce compliance Communicate with the Court in assignments, filings, drafting and issuing orders Draft, prepare and issue mandates and orders Serves as courtroom clerk on cases docketed for oral argument and prepares/distributes related documents Responsible for preparation and certification of subpoenas Copy electronic case documents from court of appeals cases Assist and confer with others about complex problems/situations, working toward solutions Responsible for preparing oral argument Docket/Index Maintain files and corresponding exhibits Check and review docket entries for errors and clarity Fulfill requests for copies of documents Close case files File documents in case files and keep docket sheets updated, maintaining copies of all materials related to regular monthly hand down Generate the Conference List Report and prepare minutes on results from conference Prepare the opinion release sheets for each opinion to be handed down, along with attorneys for each hand down Responsible for addressing inquiries with high quality customer service Assist judges and staff in answering questions and tasks related to cases, dockets, and hand down Perform data entry Cross-train with other areas of office for efficiency Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Become familiar with policies and procedures for processing cases Knowledge of Microsoft office products, case management software, and Missouri eFiling System Capable of following complex oral and written instructions Possess good problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to use good judgement in answering questions and providing information Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, judges, attorneys, court officials and the public Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Qualifications - All you need for success

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED. Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in court or law related work preferred.
