This role is crucial for the success of our retail operations. As a Retail Customer Service Specialist, you will engage with wholesale and retail customers to understand their needs, provide answers to their questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the best solutions. You will be responsible for promptly resolving any customer concerns while ensuring maximum satisfaction.
Your duties include maintaining product knowledge to stay updated on features, as well as upholding the high quality and visual standards of the store. You will also focus on achieving excellent customer service while meeting the store's sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Assist customers both in person and over the phone by identifying their needs and presenting suitable products and services.
Build and maintain productive relationships with both wholesale and retail customers.
Accurately process sales transactions following company policies and procedures.
Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
Maintain organized work order files and formulas.
Retrieve appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse.
Tint and mix products according to customer specifications.
Ensure the store is stocked and displays are set up effectively.
Keep equipment clean and operational.
Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks as needed.
Participate in making deliveries as required.
Maintain presentation and stock levels in assigned areas.
Stay knowledgeable about the products and their options.
Adhere to inventory control procedures.
Propose strategies to improve sales performance.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
Possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
If already employed at Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a meets expectations (3) on your most recent performance appraisal.
Completion of all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position if internal to Sherwin-Williams.
Preferred Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
At least one (1) year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
Prior experience selling paint and related products is a plus.
Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language is desirable.
Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
