JOB SUMMARY This position is essential in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products. As a Warehouse Selector, you’ll play a vital role in hand-building pallets of products and loading them onto trailers according to the company and customer standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: Navigate the warehouse using a pallet jack by reading pick sheets and going to designated locations. Accurately pick the correct products and quantities, label them, and securely build and load pallets based on established standards. Follow food safety procedures, including conducting visual inspections for damage and organizing products to prevent cross-contamination. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, responding appropriately to spills or damaged items, and disposing of trash correctly. Communicate effectively with management regarding any operational issues or concerns. Safely operate company warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners. Report equipment issues to management promptly. Complete all necessary paperwork and utilize a wearable computer to track productivity accurately. Exhibit regular attendance, meet scheduled shifts, and work overtime as necessary to fulfill operational demands. Take on additional duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree. Experience: Preferred: 6 months of warehouse experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Forklift and pallet jack certification. Professional Skills: Knowledge of safe lifting practices and food safety guidelines. Ability to build pallets quickly, accurately, and safely. Capability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks, especially in tight spaces. Commitment to achieving the minimum productivity standards set by the company. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English relevant to job requirements and safety regulations. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to follow instructions in various formats (written, oral, or diagrams). Readiness to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes). PHYSICAL DEMAND: To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, associates should be aware of the following physical demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. Must frequently lift and move up to 50 - 90 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role encounters various work environment characteristics, with reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities: Regular exposure to extreme heat, cold, and humidity; may include operating around moving mechanical parts. Frequent exposure to elevated locations. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Typically, a loud work environment.
