Job Overview
Join our dynamic operations team as a detail-oriented Material Planning Specialist. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for expertly planning, scheduling, and coordinating the movement of materials from warehouse receipt to production. Your contributions are essential in ensuring the timely availability of raw materials and components, allowing us to meet production goals, minimize delays, and maintain inventory efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategically plan and schedule material flow to align with production requirements while minimizing inventory costs.
Develop comprehensive raw material requirements and schedules based on engineering specifications and production forecasts.
Coordinate seamless material planning activities with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams.
Monitor inventory levels and proactively adjust plans to prevent shortages or excesses.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to production, optimizing availability and usage.
Track and analyze material movement and lead times to drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to swiftly resolve material-related issues and enhance production workflows.
Maintain precise records and reports on material planning and scheduling activities.
Basic Qualifications
TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
8+ years of relevant experience in material planning, materials management, or supply chain operations (or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience). Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
Sound knowledge of materials management practices, production planning, and supply chain operations.
Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM), procurement processes, and inventory control.
Experience using Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills capable of addressing moderately complex issues.
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively across departments, including purchasing, warehouse, and production teams.
Ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments while efficiently managing material flow from receipt to production.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master's) in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Analytics.
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment with cross-functional project involvement.
Familiarity with advanced materials management systems or ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards.
Proven ability to coordinate with suppliers and vendors for optimal material delivery and inventory control.
Understanding of industry best practices and standards in materials and production planning.
Proficiency in developing and interpreting production schedules, forecasts, and engineering specifications.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles or just-in-time (JIT) inventory management.
Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or ISM CPSM are a bonus.

Pay range: $80,600.00 - $145,700.00
