Lead the end‑to‑end architecture and design for the migration from AWS to GCP. Assess current AWS infrastructure and applications to define migration strategies and roadmaps. Design scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient GCP architectures aligned with business goals. Define workload migration patterns (rehost, replatform, refactor) and cutover/rollback strategies. Translate AWS services to GCP equivalents (e.g., S3 -> Cloud Storage, EKS -> GKE). Cloud Governance, Security & Compliance

Establish cloud governance policies, naming conventions, and tagging standards. Implement security best practices for IAM, encryption, and network segmentation. Embed DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and compliance checks. Standardize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/Terragrunt and integrate with CI/CD. Automate provisioning, configuration, and environment management. Maintain reusable IaC modules and enforce configuration‑as‑code principles. Reliability, Observability & Operations

Define observability standards: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting. Partner with SRE/Operations for capacity planning and performance tuning. Optimize cloud costs through rightsizing, autoscaling, and FinOps practices. Microservices & Containers Enablement

Apply microservices patterns for scalability and security. Guide Kubernetes/GKE architecture and troubleshoot containerized workloads. Optimize container performance and implement rollout strategies (blue/green, canary). Release, Environment & Quality Engineering

Define environment promotion strategies and manage deployments/rollbacks. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to maintain quality gates. Implement security and compliance checks throughout the deployment process. Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams for smooth migration. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. Estimate efforts and contribute to delivery planning. Documentation & Transparency

Maintain architecture design documents, migration playbooks, and runbooks. Document CI/CD processes, testing phases, and recommendations. Monitor GCP environments post‑migration for performance and cost efficiency. Continuously optimize infrastructure and reduce technical debt. Required Qualifications:

Proven Cloud Architect experience across GCP and AWS, with hands‑on AWS -> GCP migrations. Strong GCP knowledge (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, BigQuery) plus core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS/DMS, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Redis). Cloud networking, IAM/security, and monitoring/observability (Cloud Monitoring/New Relic/CloudWatch). DevOps/CI‑CD expertise with Git/GitHub Actions and IaC (Terraform/Terragrunt; Cloud Deployment Manager a plus). Scripting: Python and Bash; solid Linux (RHEL/Amazon Linux/CentOS). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. GCP Professional Cloud Architect (or equivalent cert).
