Summary:
Nesco Resource is looking for a reliable and detail-focused
Material Handler
to support warehouse operations for a well-established client in Rochester. This
full-time, temp-to-perm
role plays a key part in managing the movement of materials and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and precise handling of inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining compliance with safety and quality protocols. Shift & Pay: Shift:
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon. - Fri. Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00/Hr. Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against packing slips, manifests, and purchase orders. Maintain stock of shipping materials, tools, and supplies. Prepare and process necessary shipping documents such as bills of lading, labels, and work orders. Pack, seal, label, and prepare materials for delivery using appropriate tools and equipment. Record and track shipment data including weights, charges, and available space. Use barcode scanners and inventory systems to maintain inventory accuracy. Perform cycle counts, repacking, and routine inventory checks. Conduct safety inspections and report or log any required maintenance. Generate compliant labels and shipping documentation, including for hazardous waste. Assist in loading and unloading materials in a safe and efficient manner. Attend and actively contribute to daily team huddles and communication meetings. Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Familiarity with barcode scanning and inventory software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. Ability to follow established safety and quality procedures without deviation. Good communication skills and a team-first mindset. Physically capable of lifting and moving materials as required throughout the shift. Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a warehouse or manufacturing facility with active machinery and material handling equipment. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday. May be exposed to loud noise, fluctuating temperatures, or airborne particles depending on the workspace.
